Captivate Conference – October 6-8, 2013

No video to be had of this one, alas, but it was an hour-long talk shared between myself, James Parkman (Kingdom Games), and Jason Maltzen (Hidden Achievement) that covered the care and feeding of your own independent game studio. We each talked about various aspects of business and/or studio management, followed by a panel-style discussion of audience questions.

Definitely the most fun I’ve ever had talking about taxes, this was from the Austin IGDA chapter’s 2013 Microtalks series, held at Austin’s City Hall. The poor timekeeper gave up around minute 13 of my ten minute talk.
